Tricky Workplace Situation Handled
- Cognitive Biases impact our performance in 3 ways: 1. Cause thinking traps that generate unconscious automatic thoughts that obstruct us from seeing different perspectives. This can impact team working and collaboration. 2. Prevent big picture thinking that can obstruct creative problem solving during a crisis or change when we are dealing with ambiguity. 3. Can impact business processes like hiring and performance reviews leading to poor decisions that can have a negative effect on organizational climate and employee engagement in the long run.
- 1. Confirmation Bias 2. Bandwagon bias sometimes.
- In 2 ways : 1. Prevent me from seeing different perspectives when dealing with large number of conflicting opinions. 2. Sometimes stop me from daring to be different.
- 1. I could use the Flip It Thinking concept that has really helped me in my journey and can teach the RRR Tool (Recognize, Rationalize and Replace). This tool is very useful and has helped me to develop self leadership and challenge my cognitive biases during the present pandemic which was a completely new cognitive reality for us.
