Tricky Workplace Situation Handled
- Self-regulation always allows us to do the right thing
- Self-regulation promotes honesty
- Self-regulation allows us to remain calm and apply logic when we want to respond to injustice
- Self-regulation provides long term success and manages anxiety over short term and quick fix rewards
- Self-regulation manages conflict and allows us to co-create solutions
- 1) As per my opinion, the signs would have always been there and it is the writing on the wall when Janine does this self-aggrandizing promotion. Hence it is prudent to be mindful and tune in and Bernard should voice out his concerns. 2) It is important for him to set in a check-in meet and understand where he currently stand and what will take him to the next level? What are the right things to do? 3) the important thing is he should never compare and question. Rather be curios to understand ways which will take him to the desired position
- Any conflict resolution happens through dialogue only and it works. but as per my opinion, we must also bring in the aspects of Respect and Inclusion to drive the decision making. it is important to reinforce positive behaviours and set the future standards every time we resolve a conflict
- I would suggest journaling situations, also step out and think again what would have gone wrong and also iterate all possible solutions. this kind of reflection Prepare us for the next conflict.
- Rational Decision making, choosing the alternative and then owning the decision. Further, it is important to study the aftermath/effects inorder to do any course correction. Lessons Learnt from previous decisions is also equally important to make sound decisions

- this is a men's playing team. there is a separate group for female players. Also there is a mixed team which is gender neutral

- Affinity Bias - to step back, listen mindfully and judge less. Reflect on the past situations and engage in a conversation based on curiosity to understand the other person.
- to jot down notes, engage in a conversation and not a Q&A session. bring your complete self to the conversation table and no mobile checking. Also ask open ended questions to keep the conversation going. Share personal stories and embrace vulnerability
- Sequential search promotes stereotypes and it is therefore better to have a group decision making. Sequential approach leading to hiring one person at a time is mostly based on our opinions, first impression and our experiences and hence is very skewed
- 1) by stereotyping, we forget the value of diversity and the success it brings to the table 2) we tend to overlook a person's actual skills and value based on our intrinsic biases 3) ultimately this leads to group think which will surely fail 4) Stereotyping kills the profession while it is busy saving jobs
- 1) Judge less 2) Let's campaign men to start loving pink and tell women they can also be muscular and strong physically 3) Child care is co-parenting and joint decision making and is just not the role of the mother. if the father does it, let us start celebrating 4) Here father and mother what I am referring is gender neutral.
- I feel left out, my voice is not heard and the birds of same feather keep flocking together. There is no diversity of thoughts and creativity gets halted in this process
- My stereotype influenced decisions makes me myopic to all the best options available and hence it may not be a rationale Decision.
- Please listen with mindfulness and do not frame opinion by referring to your won stereotype in mind and then blurt out the advice.
- 1) As usual with these tech gadgets, the launch price is too costly 2)The features will become obsolete sooner as soon as a competitor launches a similar product or the same company may launch the next version with advanced pricing 3)There are high changes for this model to become a failure with no chance for upgradation/exchange 4) Cost of service in case of any damage will be too costly to bear and there are limited options for service centers. It is just a too hyped model
- 1) Formulate your question - Frame the question statement to trigger the critical thinking process 2) Gather your information - the right question paves the way for the right information 3) Apply the information - Check the concept, information available, evidences for a logical conclusion 4) Consider the Implications - future impact must drive the decision making. immediate ratification is not sufficient 5) Explore points of view - the logical reasoning involves valuing alternative POVs
- 1) Bosses/Managers set the culture tone. if they do what is convenient over what is right, in the course of time, the rank and sundry class would also adopt the same and this drives the overall attitude of the company 2) Perception, Likeability and Unconscious Bias are given priority over logic, respect and inclusion
- 1) Doing the job as a retirement job - not a go getter - Because they keep pointing out to the credit at the month end and plays down enthusiastic team members as aggressive. 2) Likeability and Favoritism are given high priority over Respect and Inclusion
- Sharing my own stories of struggle, grit and determination, why plan B is important, why direction is required, why we need mentors as I was blessed to have people guiding me throughout. Also Getting Inspired and Leading yourself matters. Learning is Learned led. will share real life stories to make the desired impact. I am an avid reader, creative and love to curate content. hence would be able to bring that difference in my mentee's learning journey
- Define the problem, Brainstorming and list down alternatives, Shortlist a couple of ideas and then do a cost benefit analysis, visualize the overall impact to the well-being of the people, decide and implement
- To involve people on the ground and take their facts into consideration
- My own stories of rational decision making and what is the outcome. Most importantly I will share my failure stories here.
- Facts are the truths. opinions are our emotions, reactions and biases
- Facts as it helps in a logical decision making. also helps us be assertive and not be seen as taking sides
- When we are in a new group/situation with limited information/facts in hand, our mind may start framing opinions as the conversation goes. the opinions are again based on our experiences and beliefs

- The power of pause is helpful here. While we can allow our mind to form opinions, we must also apply logical thinking and be self-aware of what we are opining on, whether it is based on fact or hearsay/ emotions.
