- To work in collaboration it is important to be able to understand others and get your point across as well , one essential skill is to practice Active listening. it means listening without judgement and ensuring you are open to understanding the persons point of view. To communicate better it is necessary to be mindful about our communication both verbal and non verbal, our written words, tone of voice and body language cues. By looking at something from a different perspective we can be more open to seeing another persons thoughts and understand them in a better way
- 1. The person we don't like is a human being too, and has a family and a life, they too have someone who likes them and thinks they are awesome 2. Try and find something to like about them and focus on that 3. Practice empathy , try and turn them around to seeing you as a person too rather than just a work colleague 4. Separate the person from his/her work identity or personality seeing them for their true personality
- it happens that we have to work with someone we don't like, it is important to understand that it is a collaboration and the goal is to get the task done and be successful with the end result. We can be more mindful of our own reactions, being more respectful and open the channels of communication to take their point of view .To allow the other person to put their thoughts across at the same time making sure we are being heard respectfully
- sometimes it is how we perceive our situation or our judgement about a person. We may have our own thoughts that we may need to analyze and change. we may need to communicate better
- what are the fixed and variable costs that the company has? can a review be done to analyze the costs both fixed and variable? doing a deep dive into finding the main reasons for higher costs? can changing company practises help ? can doing upgrades to existing machinery , software reduce the overall costs?
- my current issue being increasing sales and revenue. following the critical thinking method 1. understand what i am looking for and have a clear goal- formulate my question or problem 2. I need to gather all the information with respect to my reason for low sales, looking at other sales models, weighing the options currently available, 3. apply this information to my current working model . what will work for me and adopting it to suit my goal. seeking evidence and not making assumptions. 4. Critical thinking and considering the implications of how these methods will effect me and those who i need to work with 5. being open to explore others point of view and taking feedback about my method and seeing if it is working
- As an entrepreneur and a life coach using critical thinking skills in problem solving is very important as it helps to reframe an outcome, provide effective ways of decision making, increase the possibilities for a solution that works and help me and my clients make better choices , using critical thinking tools helps me to achieve greater satisfaction in seeing results
- Create a safe space where an employee can give feedback and talk without being judged. Be open to feedback as a manager Use active listening to understand and analyze their behavior
- In my service as a military officer and a commander it was important to understand the strengths and values of all team members. for the success of a mission it was necessary to identify any weak link or attitude that may jeopardize a result. to keep the team together , communicating effectively and making the goal clear was important, delegating work and authority, taking feedback and asking for solutions, making sure everyone was heard and felt valued as a person was important to work effectively. keeping motivation high was another important skill
- These steps work in dealing with a difficult employee as it is non judgmental, keeps the communication open, does not bring in personal points of view, keeps the objective in mind which is to find a possible solution to working without confrontation and being supportive as a manager and getting to the root of the problem
- Asking the employee what they have done to find a solution; Asking them to see the others point of view to the problem giving them a chance to see another perspective looking at their point of view and suggesting a possible solution for both sides
