Tricky Workplace Situation Handled
- Ask the team to research for similar solutions, then list down the thoughts and how you stand out from the already available solutions (if any). List down must-have, nice-to-have, and not-so-necessary features. Find the right team to develop the platform with the least cost, maybe by using free or open source, no code platform to create an interactive platform as MVP. Present to early adopters, target audience, make it to be used by a few homeless and restaurants who would donate the food (if they agreed initially). Get the feedback. Revisit the priorities of features, and raise the funds. Hire the tech team and better to outsource the initial development and move on with initial basic version of the platform.
- Providing left over/extra food to homeless people through a platform (web app)
- Homeless people would have food to eat daily
- Instead of wasting the leftover food and dumping it, how about making it available for the homeless people who don't have proper food to eat. Sharing is caring!!!
- The homeless people need to register themselves with their bio, location or any way to contact them, so that food can be delivered to them. Our representative will collect data from homeless as they might not have digital resources to do that. Restaurants who would be the donors would register on our platform.
- Will start with food sharing as most important one, then would gradually include other necessities like cloths, medicine etc
- Must have : Food sharing, Nice to Have : providing medicine to the homeless needy for their illness, Not necessary : providing shelter
- To validate if their idea of renting a portion of the living place would work for factors like, people would trust staying in apartments/portions than costly hotels. Like AirBnB
- They would help keep the focus, take baby and one step at a time towards the bigger goal and help in developing the self accomplishment feeling for motivation and re-organizing where needed on each step towards the main goal
- I would love to develop my team as leaders, they would work as team for achieving the goal and grow together. Leadership and team work would surely keep them motivated and focused towards their goals.
- I would use team building and leadership-related activities to make them understand and learn these skills while enjoying the learning journey too. I have a bulk of such training material I have used to make an impact. I would also use my personal learned lessons and failures to guide them because learning from others' mistakes and real-life events is always effective.
- I would come up with situation-based and scenario-based practical sessions to understand the way of identifying, discussing, and solving conflicts. Since conflicts are tens situations mostly to better to understand and learn about them in a fun way.
- I recently had this situation with my CEO. I had a meeting with him and told him from the start that this is something that I am here to discuss and resolve that is affecting my performance. Talked to him openly about all the factors. Listened to him his point of view and we both mutually identified that there is a communication gap among us, we need to talk and communicate more often and set up short-term goals towards the eventual goals.. Its better to understand and acknowledge the conflict sooner and sit down to discuss with open mind and goal of solving it for the better future.
- I will admit and acknowledge the conflict, then clarify what the conflict is about, then would schedule a discussion to discuss, listen to the other person, and present my point of view to find a common respectful solution. Decide the next action items and how to go onwards and revisit the solution in intervals to see if its working fine or if both need to discuss again.
- Talk to my mentee and discuss our timezone difference (if any), and my schedule and decide the recurring meeting timings to stay organized, and for anything our of schedule, there would be specific open discussion time slots in the calendar. We'll agree to repeat each other schedules to stay organised and more responsive.
