Tricky Workplace Situation Handled
- Interviews assess different parts of an individual. Experience is one part but the way people think is also important. Moreover, interviews are very codified and assess a behaviour in a very controlled and prepared environment. worklife is disruptive and random problems maybe thrown at you. This exercise attempts to recreate a more normal work environment
- Gain more insight into the company and see if past candidates have posted comments or shared their interview questions. Practice so you can reduce your anxiety and the feeling of unpreparedness. Understand that all interviews involve a stress interview. Stay calm and don’t rush. Take your time to think about the question before you answer. If you don’t understand the question, take a deep breath and ask the recruiter to repeat the question. Demonstrate a positive behavior when answering the question. Don’t look frustrated or annoyed with the question. Remember that interviewers want to assess how quickly you can think on your feet and the way you deal with the answer. Be confident. Interviewers do not only grade your answers, but they also judge your body language.. Provide an educated guess if you don’t know the answer.
- If you think the interviewer is rude, leave immediately.
- Avoid the question. not answer. refusing to answer and adopt a poor behaviour. Antagonising the interviewer

- This is an odd section/ and training altogether. I have regularly applied for jobs and keep doing interviews to have practice and understand what are the current trends and expectations. the STAR (Situation Task Action Result) will get you to most of the interview processes along with specific data points as much as possible. crazy questions are just part of the exercise and just need to be rehearsed
- hire people from diverse backgrounds - create consumer panels with different populations
- Able to reach more people which means more sales able to have a better product that caters for more needs which means more sales
- Inform yourself, make yourself an opinion first. Understand the different types of "expertise" you may need to tackle this decision Get expert advice based on the types of expertise you have thought of. Have your initial opinion challenged by different types. Forge new improved opinion. If necessary and if new problems you had not considered arise and you need additional opinions get more specific advice, but start closing down some options. Finalise your decision. take into consideration if it's aligned with your beliefs and you will be ok to carry it though. Also consider how it is impacting positively the world
- He could have asked what the customer was after. Was the TV for them? For someone else? What are their viewing habits? Based on that he could have aligned his speech to the potential client's
- The team wearing the same colour needs to work together to put the single ball in the cage before the other team wearing a different colour does it
- Good question. Depending on the sport category the authorities have decided that players should have the same physical capabilities to achieve fairness
- A team is a group of people that works together. They play against each other to see which one is the best, this is called competition and humans find it very exciting :)
- As I woman I always tend to look at gender biases.. I know I am sensitive to them (Am I being ignored or talked to like this because I am a woman?) so I always question myself before I talk.
- I am a researcher before everything. As a researcher you are taught from the beginning that you need to limit interactions with the object of your study so as not to "contaminate or influence it". Observation of oneself and others you are interacting with is key. Based on your observations you may then ask questions to form a judgement.
- I would present videos of situations with people from different backgrounds, without sound and ask for people to comment on it. or present pictures with people (Women / Men) in different outfits and ask them to guess what their job is. Another one would be to take articles from the press and check are people from different backgrounds are referred to in different contexts.
- We expected certain behaviours from people when we put them into a stereotype. Stereotyping also inhibits the person who is a victim of said stereotype and their performance and behaviours
- Discuss with Emily, understand what she needs and what she is looking for that I may bring to her. Have an honest conversation with myself as to why I think I am not the right person to mentor Emily. If I still feel that I am not the right person, the minimum I can do is tell her who I think would be best for her and explaining my reasons.
- I always do when I am not mindful. I think our brain is lazy and will try to interpret situations by the shortest and easiest explanation possible. For that, it will use a bank of predating experiences or information, which are created by our surroundings. Whenever I engage with a new person or new situation I try to question myself "why are you thinking this" sometimes past experience can be relevant, sometimes not and by keeping your self honest you can know when to rely on your past experience, when you turn outwards and listen to what is actually happening to forge new understandings and solutions
