- When you remain objective you are able to provide better client service which tends to make clients feel more welcome which will generally drives sales and repeat customers.

- I would share some of my career experiences. One that comes to mind is when I was assisting a client whom appeared not to be shopping or have the ability to shop in the very expensive boutique in which I worked. Because I try my best not to judge I attempted to assist the client and figured if nothing else it was a great way to enhance my selling skills. After a full tour of the boutique and putting together a few looks for the client I was able to build a $25,000 sale with this client.
- Listened to the client, asked for a photo of the outfit to help me propose more options if I did not have what she wanted exactly and if all else failed I would have suggested alternative stores that would likely have what she was seeking. Good customer service even when no money is transacted is a great marketing tool.
- When you aren't honest you are often left feeling guilty. When you are educated on the space in which you're working you're prepared to give honest feedback, alternatives and options. Most people enjoy making others happy and by being honest you can always walk away feeling good about your contributions.
- I try to do my best to listen to their needs, often repeating their request to make them further commit to what they are asking and do my best to act accordingly.
- These judgements can be positive or negative based on what we believe. Pre judging often creates incorrect assumptions which often lead to let downs and poor service.
- The women in the store assumed that based on the way Julia Roberts was dressed she would not be able to purchase the merchandise in the boutique.
- While "judging" a person on their looks is most of the time a mistake appearances can sometimes assist in getting to know a persons preferences if partnered with the right open ended questions.
- I would send them out into the market place and ask them to create two scenarios one which they are likely to be treated well and another not so well (poorly groomed) then I would discuss both experiences and ask them to discuss the emotions felt. Emotional experiences are a great way to train someone in these types of behaviors.
- In reviewing the provable facts with the client I would be able to help the client come to the same conclusion as myself.
- I would encourage someone to always start with the facts of the situation and carefully think about how their decision will reflect upon the business and themselves.
