Over the past 30 years I've immersed myself in Social Work, Psychology, Medicine and Human Rights through clinical social work; health services management; academic teaching and trauma related consulting work.

I use this experience to provide clinical counselling to individuals; supervision/coaching to trauma workers (all disciplines) and training to trauma teams… to empower people to lead successful and productive lives.

I’ve been honored to help thousands of people transform their lives through clinical social work, journal and research publications, delivering conference presentations and keynote addresses and developing training programs to associations, non-government organisations and educational institutions in Australia, Nepal and Ireland.

I’ve been fortunate to serve on trauma projects funded by the International Red Cross, USAid and the European Union in Nepal, Philippines, Indonesia, East Timor, Sri Lanka and Georgia (Russia). And to receive the Churchill Fellowship for “Prevention and Treatment Services for Refugee Children and Families.”

I’m passionate about helping people thrive beyond trauma, because I too have experienced a range of traumas while helping people in refugee settings, rape and domestic violence centres, cancer education, missing persons organisations and mental health services.

That’s why I’ve founded Thrive Beyond Trauma. An organisation that provides supervision, mentoring and coaching to social workers, psychologists and counsellors in trauma related fields to help them develop and succeed in their career.

What’s more, as the author of “Thrive Beyond Traumas: a guide for trauma workers and their managers,” I provide training to trauma teams. My focus is to help teams achieve a better work/life balance, feel valued, manage client workloads and effectively implement trauma-services despite reduced funding.
