Tricky Workplace Situation Handled

- 1. Counter arguments on new proposed plan 2. Doubts on its success in existing weak market condition 3. Lack of skilled manpower for execution of new job 4. Initial higher cost as plan proposed is new and it will take sometime to reach optimal economies of scale
- 1. Upon transfer from Pipelines to Refinery Division, I smoothly gained knowledge and confidence with seniors without avoiding or getting anxious with responsibility. 2. When subordinate did not apologized for his insubordination, I discussed and tried to understand his perspective and make him too understand how his behaviour was rude and dis-resoectful. 3. Once I was told to present targets for the year without prior intimation, I quickly geared up and successfully presented. To enhance adaptive skill is by remaining informed of what is going around so that we are not caught off guard at any time.

- I would give my life experience of resilience when I changed from Pipelines division to Refinery division after 18 years of service in Pipelines - i faced many problems but tried to learn from each setback and improve as a leader.
- Foremost, Tom interrupted Melinda from stating her requirements of what type of apartment she is interested. Tom was too quick to offer options without seeking details which may affect their choice.

- 1. I would use my own story to share how I failed to convince my children and then how I learnt the technique to make them use their time usefully. 2. In office I learnt how to manage delay in work from subordinates in a positive way rather than seeking clarification for delay of work. Through positive reinforcement.

- My company resolves conflict by calling both parties for mutual discussion and then objectively hear each persons grievance, then tell where each ones beliefs values and assumptions are going wrong. Thereafter, remove misunderstanding, and resolve. The company can help people to asses conflicts early on and take so moto effort to resolve before it becomes a big conflict.
