This could happen when the management fails to prepare the employees for what is about to happen. This could be a decision by the management on purpose to let the employees know from the media or it could be a mistake or slip on their part not estimating the effect of the PR crisis. I would say its a lack of leadership at the TOP. I believe people are the biggest assets of any organization and taking them into confidence before any move is highly important. The support from the work force I believe is underestimated in most cases.
